Product Overview

The AB-5223 is a Kai Sekimagoroku gyutou with a 7-inch molybdenum vanadium stainless-steel blade and strengthened black wooden handle. Its broad heel, pointed tip and curved cutting profile create a versatile chef-knife shape for everyday kitchen preparation.

A full tang extends through the three-rivet handle, with a stainless-steel bolster at the blade junction. At 12 inches overall, this Japanese-made model pairs a moisture-resistant wooden grip with the black-and-silver styling shared by the coordinated Sekimagoroku gyutou sizes.

A pointed gyutou for everyday preparation

The 7-inch blade combines a broad heel with a tapered tip. Its curved profile accommodates a rocking motion, while the long cutting edge provides room for slicing ingredients across a board.

Full-tang construction

A continuous tang runs through the strengthened wooden handle.

Molybdenum vanadium steel

Stainless-steel blade selected for abrasion resistance and edge retention.

Bolster and rivets

Stainless-steel fittings connect the three-rivet grip and blade.

Full tang inside a wooden grip

A visible metal spine continues through the strengthened black wooden handle. Three rivets and a stainless-steel bolster distinguish this construction from the separate collar and unriveted grip of the traditional-style Sekimagoroku knives.

Choose among coordinated gyutou lengths

This version measures 7 inches at the blade and 12 inches overall. The matching gyutou models retain the same handle treatment in different cutting lengths, making size—not a different blade format—the main choice between them.
