Aoi Yuzen Blue & White Ceramic Shallow Bowl

Blue flowers, leaves and geometric panels cover the inside of this Aoi Yuzen ceramic shallow bowl. Fine brown lines divide the patchwork, while a brown edge follows the scalloped rim. The blue-and-white decoration gives rice, vegetables or a small noodle dish a patterned backdrop, with different motifs appearing between the ingredients.

Made in Japan, the bowl stands 2 inches high and offers a shallow form for food arranged across the opening. Try a rice portion with sliced vegetables, a few dumplings or a side salad, leaving part of the patchwork visible around the serving. Matching Aoi Yuzen bowls carry the same design into other sizes. The ceramic is microwave safe for reheating and dishwasher safe for cleanup. Pair it with wooden chopsticks, a chopstick rest and a separate sauce dish.
