A simple, open sauce well
The broad white well is framed by a gently raised rim, without decoration dividing the serving surface. That simple outline gives a dark dipping sauce, pale pickle or colorful garnish a clear boundary beside the main food. The shallow form offers a different presentation from a footed rice bowl: use it for a small accompaniment that should remain visible and separate, rather than for a substantial course. Its round outline also softens a setting built around angular sushi or appetizer plates.
