The AUTEC ASM575A Onigiri Rice Ball Maker is a commercial automatic rice-forming machine designed to produce consistent onigiri, omusubi, Spam musubi, rice sandwiches, Makunouchi rice portions, and other formed-rice products. Prepared cooked rice is loaded into the large-capacity hopper and fed through AUTEC’s forming system, which portions and shapes the rice according to the installed forming rollers. Different forming units allow operators to produce traditional triangular onigiri, rectangular musubi, and other rice-ball shapes and sizes for a variety of Japanese and Asian foodservice applications.

The ASM575A is designed to form rice while maintaining a controlled balance of rice grains and internal air for a soft, fluffy finished texture. Operators can adjust rice volume, density, and compression to fine-tune each portion, while AUTEC’s helical forming system and interchangeable forming rollers provide flexibility for different menu formats. U.S. specifications list production at approximately 1,300–1,950 rice balls per hour, or roughly 1.8–2.8 seconds per piece, depending on the forming setup and operating conditions.

A 22 lb. (10 kg) rice hopper supports extended production runs, while built-in heat retention helps maintain the temperature of prepared rice during service and prep. The ASM575A has only 10 removable internal components for routine cleaning and is designed for quick assembly and disassembly.

As a commercial onigiri maker, musubi maker, automatic rice ball shaper, Japanese rice-forming machine, and sushi robot, the ASM575A is suited to restaurants, onigiri shops, Japanese markets, supermarket prepared-food departments, commissaries, catering operations, universities, stadiums, and other high-volume foodservice operations. The machine automates rice portioning and shaping while leaving filling, wrapping, topping, grilling, or final assembly to the operator.
