Product Overview

The D-398 is a compact, solid-head spatula from Pearl Metal’s おやつDEっSE range. The broad black face supports an okonomiyaki pancake or another soft portion as you move it to a plate, without openings for small pieces to fall through.

At 7.75 inches overall, it is the shorter of the two matching spatulas. Choose it for close-in handling, or compare the 9.75-inch D-399 when you need more reach. Both are made in Japan and have red handles with hanging openings.

Support a soft portion

The solid face provides a continuous surface beneath a pancake or similar serving. Slide enough of the head underneath to support the food, keep the receiving plate close and lift steadily through the transfer.

The compact length keeps the working head nearer your hand than the longer D-399. Match the size of the serving to the support available on the head, especially when moving a soft or heavily topped portion.

A broad face and rounded red handle

The black head widens from a short neck to a broad, straight leading edge. Its unperforated face is useful when you want to carry a portion intact rather than let liquid drain through slots.

The rounded red handle has molded ridges near its hanging opening. A contrasting collar marks the transition to the black neck, making the handle and working end easy to distinguish.
