Masamoto KK Series Kasumi Yanagiba can be used to slice boneless sashimi and to skin small~medium sized fishes.

DO NOT use in dishwasher or microwave. The carbon steel is not rust-resistance. Wash, wipe and dry it up well with a soft cloth immediately after each use. If rust appears, use a whetstone to remove. Do not cut or hit frozen or any hardened food with this knife; it may cause the tip to break.

Product Overview

The KK0424 is a Masamoto KK-series Kasumi yanagiba with a 9-1/4-inch blade made from high carbon steel and soft iron. A natural magnolia-wood handle and dark collar complete the traditional slicing profile.

The knife measures 15-1/8 inches overall and is intended for slicing boneless sashimi and skinning small to medium fish. Its carbon-steel construction requires prompt washing, wiping and drying after use, making the care routine an important distinction from stainless-steel alternatives.

Carbon steel is not rust-resistant. Wash, wipe and dry promptly with a soft cloth after use, and keep the knife out of dishwashers and microwaves. This care routine should be considered alongside blade length and shape.

Kasumi construction and natural wood

High carbon steel and soft iron form the blade, while magnolia wood forms the handle. The contrasting dark collar and pale grip give the knife a different appearance from a Western-style riveted handle.
