Product Overview

The 15½-inch SK39 spruce-wood sushi rice tub provides an open, circular surface for spreading cooked rice and folding in seasoning. Its wooden base and upright sides keep the preparation area together while leaving the rim accessible to a rice paddle.

This is the widest of the four smaller options in the seven-size SK range. One 15½-inch SK39 tub is supplied, not the nested group shown in the photographs. Made in China; rice paddles, mats and other preparation tools are sold separately.

A wooden surface for rice preparation

Spread cooked rice in the open tub and use a rice paddle to fold seasoning through it. Work gently across the base rather than pressing the grains down.

The nested photograph shows the smaller SK size options together. Select the listed diameter for the single tub you need; the pictured group is not a multi-tub set.

Allow room around the rim

Allow for the full 15½-inch diameter, then leave extra space beside the tub for the paddle and seasoning. Keep that working area clear so you can reach around the rim.

The smaller SK tubs measure 11¾, 13, 14¼ and 15½ inches across. Compare those footprints before choosing; the larger SK60, SK66 and SK72 models provide a substantial step up in diameter.

Clean gently and store dry

Hand-wash the wooden tub after use, clean the surface gently and wipe away excess water. Let it dry completely in a shaded, well-ventilated place before putting it away.

Avoid prolonged soaking, abrasive scrubbing and direct heat. Natural wood can vary in grain and shade, so use gentle care to preserve the surface.
