Product Overview

The SM34-5 bamboo makisu gives sushi preparation a square, flexible rolling surface. Measuring 24 by 24 centimeters, it uses parallel bamboo strips joined by pale binding strands, with a natural light tone that keeps the construction easy to see.

The without-skin style provides an alternative to darker, skin-on bamboo mats. Lay it flat to arrange the roll, then use its flexible strip construction to guide the ingredients into shape before moving the finished roll to a cutting board.

Start with a clear square working area

Unroll the mat on a flat preparation surface and arrange the nori, rice and fillings across the center. Keep the ingredients aligned with the edge so the mat can guide them into an even cylindrical form.
