The white NHS-18WB pairs a 10-cup uncooked white-rice capacity with one-switch operation. It is a household cooker for a rice-centered meal, not a commercial production machine. Its capacity uses the supplied approximately 180 mL rice measure; choose the pan water line for the rice being prepared rather than substituting a standard U.S. cup.

The glass lid provides a view into the cooking pan, while an included stainless steel basket adds a separate steaming workflow. White-rice batches range from 2–10 supplied cups; brown-rice batches use a lower 2–6-cup range and their own water instructions. Automatic Keep Warm follows the rice cycle, but the manual excludes brown rice from holding and limits white-rice Keep Warm to five hours.

The familiar one-switch routine

Measure 2–10 supplied cups of white rice, follow the matching water instructions and start with the cooking switch. After the switch rises, keep the lid closed for the manual’s finishing rest before loosening the rice.

The supplied rice cup is approximately 180 mL, not a standard U.S. cup. The rice spatula, detachable cord and stainless steel steaming basket complete the NHS-18WB kit. Measure and rinse rice separately before loading the nonstick pan.

A separate steaming option

Follow the model-specific steaming quantities, water amounts and timing for vegetables and other supported recipes. Do not assume that the largest rice load and a full basket can be prepared simultaneously. Check doneness before serving.

Use the supplied approximately 180 mL cup and the model’s white- or brown-rice limits. The nominal capacity is uncooked rice, not cooked yield or serving count. Follow the separate brown-rice water table and rinse rice outside the inner pan. NHS-18 changes to Keep Warm after cooking. The manual limits white-rice Keep Warm to five hours and prohibits brown-rice Keep Warm. Use the separate steaming and dessert instructions with their model-specific quantities and water amounts; no simultaneous full-rice and full-steamer capacity is specified. Leave white rice covered for about 15 minutes after cooking and brown rice for about 10 minutes, then loosen or serve as directed. Manufacturer recipe times are operating examples; check doneness.
