The Metallic Black NL-GAC18-BM is the ten-cup Umami Micom model for households that want a larger rice batch and more preparation options. Its Umami program extends soaking and steaming for short- or medium-grain white rice, while fuzzy-logic control manages the cooking cycle. The ten-cup rating uses the supplied approximately 180 mL measure for uncooked rice; other menus have different batch limits.

This cooker also provides a steaming basket and a separate Slow Cook mode. The included basket can be used for standalone steaming or the manual’s reduced-capacity rice-and-food method, while Slow Cook follows its own recipes and marked maximum. Keep Warm and Reheat remain rice-specific functions: they are not holding or reheating methods for slow-cooked food, steamed dishes or cold leftovers.

Give white rice the Umami sequence

Umami uses a longer soaking and steaming process than a basic rice cycle. White, Umami, quick white, sushi, Jasmine and Quick Jasmine allow 2–10 supplied cups, while other menus use lower limits. Select the appropriate water line and plan time for the chosen program.

Steam with the included basket

Set standalone Steam from 1–60 minutes, including heat-up time, and follow the food-height limit. The separate rice-and-food method uses the White menu with 2–4 cups of rice for this size. Remove steamed food at completion rather than holding it in rice Keep Warm.

Take out the inner lid for care

The inner lid detaches for washing. Unplug and cool the appliance before cleaning and follow the nonstick pan’s care instructions. Allow the manual’s cooling interval before another rice batch rather than treating the cooker as continuous commercial production equipment.

Use the supplied approximately 180 mL rice measure and the correct menu water line. Congee, porridge, mixed, sweet, brown and GABA Brown have separate batch limits; the maximum white-rice rating is not a cooked yield. Jasmine and Quick Jasmine use their own rice type and water line. Keep Warm is limited to eligible rice for up to 12 hours. Do not hold mixed rice, porridge, congee, sweet rice, steamed food or slow-cooked food. Brown and GABA Brown use Regular rather than Extended Keep Warm. Reheat applies only to already-warm white rice within the marked pan limit.
