4½ in White & Olive Melamine Rice Bowl, 10 oz

The white round bowl stands on a small foot, with olive accents and dark looping brushstrokes around the exterior. The melamine surface combines the light ground with darker markings, so the decoration remains part of the setting around the food. Matching bowls, plates and a tea cup repeat the decoration, while coordinating spoons carry olive accents on their handles.

The 10 oz bowl measures 4½ inches in diameter and 2¼ inches high. Serve rice, vegetables or an individual side dish beside the main course. Center the portion in the bowl, leaving the decorated surface visible around it. Place the larger dish nearby and keep other accompaniments in their own small bowls, so diners can combine the meal one bite at a time. Repeat the design with coordinating plates and sauce dishes, then add wooden chopsticks, a chopstick rest and a clear drinking glass.
