A changing rhythm of blue stripes
Groups of broad blue strokes alternate with finer, closely spaced lines around the rim. The change in line weight gives the border movement without filling the center with decoration. A plain white exterior and low curved wall keep the shape simple from the side. Pair the bowl with a white spoon or neutral side plate for a restrained setting, or add a dark sauce dish to echo the stronger blue marks. Other blue-striped bowls can coordinate across courses even when their dimensions and depths differ.
