About this product

Product type: Sai Japan rectangular plate
Color: Green/Blue with brown rim
Dimensions: 8 in L × 5¼ in W
Design: Floral face with shallow flared sides
Form: Low rectangular pedestal
Country of origin: Japan

Product Overview

The MT28-HS rectangular plate has a green-blue floral face, a brown rim and a shallow flared profile on a low rectangular pedestal. The pattern remains visible around smaller arrangements, adding detail to the table without requiring the food to cover the whole surface. It measures 8 inches long by 5¼ inches wide and is made in Japan.

Use the plate for a small savory course or a colorful sweet presentation, leaving the floral branch visible beside the food. A separate sauce dish and simple chopsticks complete the setting while keeping the patterned surface as the focal point. Food, drinks and companion pieces shown are not included.

Empty green-blue MT28-HS floral plate with brown rim and low pedestal

Floral face and raised profile

The pale floral branch follows the green-blue face toward the brown rim. Its shallow flared sides and low rectangular pedestal create a layered profile, so a small arrangement can leave both the pattern and the outline visible.

Rectangular pedestal form

Shallow flared sides sit above a low rectangular pedestal.

8 by 5¼-inch size

An 8-inch length and 5¼-inch width.

A savory course with room around it

Place the main portion through the center with vegetables beside it rather than covering the entire plate. The 8 by 5¼-inch outline provides a compact setting for a composed course, with chopsticks and a sauce dish placed separately.

MT28-HS green-blue floral plate with two colorful sweet skewers

Add color for a sweet course

The green-blue surface also provides a backdrop for colorful sweets. Arrange skewered or individual pieces with space between them, keeping some of the pale floral decoration visible and serving any accompanying drink in its own glass.
