Product Overview

Two broad glazed bands stretch across the silver-gray field of this square ceramic plate. Brown, tan and gray-green tones within the bands contrast with the rougher-looking gray areas around them. The irregular edge and rising corners give the 9.65-inch square a sculptural frame, with a height of 1½ inches.

A modest fish portion or a loose arrangement of vegetables leaves room to show both the bands and the textured border. Keep the food toward the open center rather than covering the entire surface. Made in Japan, the plate is dishwasher safe and microwave safe. The long SP213-B platter carries a coordinated banded treatment in a narrower serving format.

Two bands across a square field

The glazed bands occupy different parts of the center, leaving silver-gray areas between and around them. An uneven raised edge continues the textured appearance of the plate. Keep some of the surface exposed so the finish and square outline remain visible alongside the food.

Fish with an open border

A modest salmon portion and a few asparagus pieces sit within the broad square center. Leaving an open margin shows the glazed bands and prevents the raised edge from disappearing beneath the serving. The plate’s shape makes a distinct alternative to a round dinner plate.

Vegetables against a varied glaze

A loose arrangement of squash, broccoli and carrots adds color without covering the whole field. Spread the vegetables lightly so the two bands remain visible between portions. The raised perimeter frames the arrangement while preserving the plate’s irregular silhouette.
