Product Overview

Tiger’s JPW-G18U is a household induction-heating rice cooker with programmed menu selection and a ceramic-coated inner pot. Its menu-specific capacity limits matter as much as its headline size: quick single-cup cooking, standard rice and other preparations do not all use the same quantity. Select this model for IH cooking rather than simple hot holding.

The Tiger JPW-G18U is a Japanese-made induction-heating rice cooker and warmer in Dark Gray. Plain, Premium, Eco, Sushi, Quick and Long-grain programs accept 1–10 supplied rice cups, with a nominal maximum of 1.8 liters. The approximately 0.18-liter measure is for uncooked rice, so the capacity is not a serving count.

Induction heating works with a three-layer ceramic-coated metal inner pot. The cooking surface also has a fluorocarbon-resin nonstick coating. Sixteen cooking menus include rice, Porridge, Brown Porridge, Cook•Soup and Cake. Express Limited Cups is designed for smaller 1–3-cup white-rice batches, with a manufacturer cooking-time guideline of 18–28 minutes under specified conditions.

Two stored timers let you choose a cooking-completion time for eligible menus, while a separate Soak Timer adds 10–60 minutes of soaking before cooking starts. Premium uses a longer soaking stage than Plain. Use each program’s minimum timer interval and do not schedule cooking more than 12 hours ahead.

Automatic Keep Warm is limited to 24 hours for white rice, including rinse-free white rice. Avoid leaving 2 cups or less in the pot, and serve small quantities promptly. Reheat is for rice already being held warm, within the manual’s temperature and quantity restrictions. Brown, seasoned rice and porridge should be served promptly rather than held like plain white rice.

Cook•Soup runs for 5–180 minutes and uses the Plain 3–8 fill marks for the combined food and liquid level. Its separate holding limit is six hours. Cake runs for 5–80 minutes and allows shorter, limited extensions. Follow the supplied Menu Guide for recipe quantities; neither function uses the full white-rice cup rating as a general food or batter limit.

The JPW-G18U is rated at 1206W on 120V / 60Hz and measures approximately 11.3 inches wide by 15.2 inches deep by 9.4 inches high. Open-lid height is approximately 18.3 inches. Use an independent outlet rated at least 15A and keep at least 30 centimeters from walls and furniture. The pot and inner lid lift out for hand washing, and the dedicated Clean program helps with odor removal. A spatula, ladle and rice measure are included. Tiger specifies household use.

Match the rice to the program

The inner pan is the cooking vessel for the JPW-G18U induction system. Its three-layer metal construction combines ceramic coating with a fluorocarbon-resin nonstick cooking surface. For a small white-rice batch, Express Limited Cups uses 1–3 supplied cups; porridge, soup and cake require their own program quantities.

The JPW-G18U pan and inner lid can be removed for hand washing after the cooker has cooled. Clean these parts separately rather than treating the electrical body as a washable vessel. The dedicated Clean program helps with odor removal but does not replace routine care of the removable parts.

Use the supplied approximately 0.18-liter measure and each menu’s own water scale. The full white-rice range is 1–10 cups, but Express is limited to 1–3; Mixed to 1–7; Sweet to 2–5; and Brown to 2–6. Added ingredients further reduce Brown to 2–4 cups and Firm Porridge or Brown Porridge to 0.5–1.5 cups. The 24-hour limit applies to white-rice Keep Warm. Cook•Soup has its own six-hour maximum. Reheat requires rice already being held warm at approximately 55°C / 131°F or above, no more than half a pot, and more than 2 cups to avoid the manual’s small-quantity drying caution. Do not use Keep Warm or Reheat to warm cold rice.
