The black NHS-06BA is the compact, three-cup member of Zojirushi’s simple-switch family. It starts rice cooking with one switch and automatically switches off when the cycle finishes. Unlike the larger NHS-10 and NHS-18, this model has no Keep Warm mode and does not include a steaming basket, making it a distinct choice for rice cooked close to mealtime.

Measure white rice in one-to-three supplied-cup batches or brown rice in one-to-two-cup batches, using the corresponding water instructions. The supplied cup is approximately 180 mL, not a standard U.S. cup. Its removable glass lid provides a view into the pan, and the nonstick pan comes out for gentle hand cleaning after the cooker has been unplugged and cooled.

Small-batch rice without digital menus

Use the supplied rice cup and the matching white- or brown-rice water instructions. The three-cup maximum applies to uncooked white rice; brown rice has a lower two-cup limit. Rinse in a separate bowl to protect the nonstick pan.

Cooking only—no Keep Warm mode

The control has one Cooking indicator and a single switch. When cooking finishes, the switch rises and the cooker switches off. Leave white rice covered for the instructed resting step, then loosen it with the spatula; do not expect the larger models’ Keep Warm function.

A simple measuring and serving kit

A rice measuring cup and nonstick spatula accompany the NHS-06BA. A steaming basket is not included with this size. Allow the cooker to cool before washing the pan and glass lid, and never immerse the body or fixed electrical cord.

Use the supplied approximately 180 mL cup and the model’s white- or brown-rice limits. The nominal capacity is uncooked rice, not cooked yield or serving count. Follow the separate brown-rice water table and rinse rice outside the inner pan. NHS-06 has no Keep Warm function or supplied steaming basket. Its cooking switch rises and the unit automatically switches off when cooking finishes. Leave white rice covered for about 15 minutes after cooking and brown rice for about 10 minutes, then loosen or serve as directed. Manufacturer recipe times are operating examples; check doneness. The cord is directly mounted and the plug is polarized. Unplug and let the appliance cool before cleaning. Keep the body and electrical parts dry.
