The Panasonic SR-Y22FGJ is a household rice cooker and steamer with a 12-cup uncooked capacity and a removable nonstick-coated pan. The North American manual specifies batches of 3–12 supplied rice cups, or 0.54–2.2 liters. A full glass lid allows a clear view of the contents.

One switch starts cooking, and the cooker changes to Keep Warm when the cycle is complete. Rinse rice separately, add water using the pan markings and allow approximately 30 minutes of soaking before cooking. After the switch changes to Warm, leave the lid closed for at least 15 minutes before mixing the rice.

Prepare rice with the matching inner pan

The clear steaming basket provides a separate space for steam cooking above the pan. Add water and arrange food as directed in the operating instructions, leaving space for steam circulation. Steam cooking is manually timed; unplug when the food is ready and handle the hot basket and lid carefully.

Care for the pan and cooking station

Steam cooking is manually timed, and the cooker should be unplugged when the food is ready. Keep Warm continues until unplugged and should not exceed five hours; it is not a mode for reheating cold rice. Clean the nonstick pan and removable accessories with non-abrasive tools, then wipe the appliance body without immersing it.
