White & Olive Footed Melamine Rectangular Plate

Lifted ends, short feet and a rippled white surface give the rectangular plate a shaped outline beneath olive accents and dark brushstrokes. The melamine surface combines the light ground with darker markings, so the decoration remains part of the setting around the food. Matching bowls, plates and a tea cup repeat the decoration, while coordinating spoons carry olive accents on their handles.

Try sushi, sliced fish or a row of small appetizers, leaving a little of the decorated surface visible around the serving. Set pickled ginger or a vegetable garnish at one end and keep the central row easy to reach with chopsticks. Serve dipping sauces in a separate dish alongside, and add a rice bowl when the meal includes one. Matching pieces repeat the design through each course. Wooden chopsticks and a clear drinking glass complete the setting.
