Tiger 10-Cup Micom Rice Cooker & Warmer with Tacook - JAX-T18U

The Tiger JAX-T18U is a 10-cup Micom rice cooker and warmer with computerized cooking control that adjusts cooking time according to the type and quantity of rice. Its 1.8-liter capacity accommodates 2–10 cups of uncooked white rice, while 10 programmed cooking modes cover plain, quick, mixed, brown, multigrain, sweet rice, porridge, steaming, slow cooking, and synchronized cooking.

Tiger's Tacook system uses an included BPA-free cooking plate to prepare rice and a separate main dish simultaneously without the cooking-plate flavors transferring into the rice. After cooking, the JAX-T18U automatically keeps rice warm for up to 12 hours. Two preset timers support delayed cooking, while the detachable inner lid and steam components simplify cleanup. Made in Japan.

JAX-T18U is the larger-capacity choice in Tiger’s JAX-T Micom line: a rice cooker and warmer for households that prepare bigger batches, with a tacook plate for coordinated meals. Choose the cooking mode before measuring ingredients, because simultaneous rice-and-side-dish cooking uses a lower rice limit than a plain-rice batch.

The Tiger JAX-T18U is a household Micom rice cooker and warmer made in Japan, with a black and stainless-steel exterior and a supplied tacook cooking plate. Its Plain and Quick white-rice range is 2–10 supplied rice cups, with a nominal maximum of 1.8 liters. The approximately 0.18-liter measure is for uncooked rice, so the cup rating is not a serving count.

The tacook plate lets you prepare a side dish above the rice using the supplied cookbook’s recipes and quantities. For synchronized cooking on this model, the rice range is 2–4 supplied cups. Select Plain/Synchro-Cooking, do not use the timer, and remove the plate when cooking finishes rather than leaving it inside during Keep Warm.

Microcomputer control adjusts cooking for the selected menu. Plain, Quick, Mixed, Sweet, Brown and Multigrain rice are joined by Porridge, Slow Cook and Steam functions. Use each menu’s own capacity and water-line instructions; the white-rice maximum does not apply to every recipe.

Two stored cooking-completion timers support eligible rice menus, with a maximum 12-hour interval. White-rice Keep Warm is limited to 12 hours and at least 2 cups. Reheat is for rice already being held warm, within the manual’s quantity and temperature restrictions. Slow Cook follows its separate six-hour holding limit.

Slow Cook can be set for 5–180 minutes, and Steam for 5–60 minutes, both in five-minute steps. The JAX-T18U steaming-water guideline is 4-1/2 supplied cups / 810 mL, and food on its cooking plate must stay at or below 1-1/2 in / 3.7 cm. The removable inner lid and steam cap can be cleaned by hand; the main lid gasket stays attached.

The cooker is rated at 918W on 120V / 60Hz and uses a short cord with a polarized plug. Approximate dimensions are 11.1 inches wide by 14.6 inches deep by 9.6 inches high. Use an independent outlet rated at least 15A and keep the cooker at least 11.81 inches / 30 centimeters from walls and furniture. A spatula, ladle, rice measure and recipe cookbook accompany the tacook plate.
