Product Overview

This pale bamboo makisu provides a straightforward surface for rolling sushi. Fine bamboo strips are held in a regular arrangement by rows of ties, creating a square mat that lies flat for preparation and curls around a roll. Its 9½-inch square size is also given as 24 × 24 cm.

The skinless bamboo construction gives the mat a light, even appearance on both sides. Keep it beside prepared rice, nori and fillings, with a spatula and cutting board nearby, to organize the assembly and finishing stages of sushi preparation.
