Prepare, sharpen and care for the stone
Prepare the stone with water according to its supplied instructions, then secure it on a stable surface with room for the full blade stroke. Follow the knife maker’s bevel and angle guidance. After use, rinse away sharpening residue and let the stone dry in shade before storage.
Inspect the face as it wears. Restore a hollowed surface with suitable water-resistant abrasive paper or a stone-flattening tool. An even surface helps you maintain consistent blade contact through the sharpening pass.
