This is a face-based artwork submission sheet for the front and back surfaces shown in the ERS designer. It is not a die-cut manufacturing drawing. ERS controls the fold, seam, paper and plate geometry used in production.
Sleeve anatomy
Plan the front and back as two narrow reading surfaces.
The ERS designer shows separate front and back print faces. Make sure each side reads correctly on its own before ERS prepares the production artwork and printing plates.
- Bleed boundary
- Artwork intended to reach the face edge continues beyond the trim line so minor production variation does not expose an unintended paper edge.
- Trim / face edge
- The intended visible face boundary. Keep essential content away from this line.
- Safe area
- The conservative area for logos, text, QR codes and other content that cannot tolerate placement variation.
- Front and back
- Independent long faces. Do not assume artwork automatically wraps continuously from one face to the other.
- Fold and seam
- Production geometry outside the public face template. Ask ERS to review any artwork intended to cross or align through these areas.
Artwork dimensions
Bleed, trim, safe area and placement tolerance are different.
Use the artwork canvas for edge-reaching color and the safe area for text, logos and QR codes. Placement tolerance is a production allowance, not extra design space.

Work from the millimeter specification
Rounded inch labels can produce small conversion differences. Build production artwork from the millimeter dimensions in the current template rather than converting a rounded display label.
File preparation
Preserve vectors where geometry matters.
The guided designer can accept a logo image for a working preview. A production file has a different responsibility: preserve edges, type, separations and placement at final physical size.

- Front and back artwork are clearly identified
- All essential content remains in the safe area
- Fonts are outlined or packaged for review
- Linked images are embedded at adequate resolution
- Spot colors are named consistently
- Hidden objects and unused color swatches are removed
- A readable reference PDF accompanies native art if requested

Color, plates and printing
Every printed background is still an ink color.
Current custom paper-sleeve artwork may use one or two print colors; a printed background counts as one of those colors.
Plate economics
ERS creates the printing plates for new or changed artwork. Current setup records: $60 one-color setup; $85.00 two-color setup. For a qualifying unchanged-artwork reorder: $0 setup for an unchanged-artwork reorder.
Fine detail
Fine details must remain readable at actual sleeve size.
Print and test at 100% size
Review fine type, lines and QR codes at the physical sleeve size. Test the final QR destination and scan from more than one device before approval.
The minimum size is a starting requirement, not a scanning guarantee. Data density, contrast, quiet zone, paper and the printed result all affect performance.
Proof and approval
The proof resolves production details before a plate is made.
Current service statement: Artwork review usually within 1 business day. Review time is not total production lead time.
Provide the front/back file, contact email, selected chopstick, quantity and any color or placement notes.
ERS checks the artwork against the current product, color limit and working production requirements.
The proof records content, face orientation, relative placement, color assignment and product association.
A named approver checks all variable information and assesses fine detail at physical size.
Any requested change creates a new proof version. Previous approvals should not silently carry forward.
Dated approval identifies the production instruction authorized for printing.
Proof outcomes use the proof-study population shown above, not the order population. Review the shared research definitions and analytical conventions.
What the proof history suggests
ERS proof history shows that revision is a normal part of preparing custom sleeve artwork. Copy corrections, layout changes, color decisions and technical corrections should remain distinguishable in the project record.
Physical or pre-production samples
A physical or pre-production sample is not included automatically. Before requesting one, confirm availability, cost, timing, approval consequences and whether the sample will represent flat print, a formed sleeve or a finished sleeved pair. Approve only the characteristics that the sample can actually demonstrate.
- Paper and feel: Review the actual paper color, finish, stiffness and handling at finished size.
- Print and color: Judge contrast, color relationships and print cleanliness on the physical paper rather than expecting a screen match.
- Fine detail: Inspect type, lines, reverses and other small elements at actual sleeve size.
- Artwork after forming: Check both faces and confirm folds, seam and opening do not hide or crowd essential content.
- Sleeve fit: Handle the finished pair and confirm the sleeve opens cleanly, fits the selected chopsticks and remains usable without predictable tearing or crushing.
- Functional graphics: Test the final printed QR code and destination from more than one device when the design includes one.
Revision control
Check the revision before reusing a saved file.
